Serial production of heavy drones due in summer 2018 - Kalashnikov Concern

MOSCOW. Nov 27 (Interfax-AVN) - Kalashnikov Concern is planning to set up a provider of unmanned aviation services, which will employ heavy drones along with other unmanned aerial vehicles. Serial production of heavy drones is due to begin next summer, the company said.

"The new company's aviation fleet will include not only light UAVs but also heavy drones which are now being tested," Kalashnikov Concern said in a statement on its website on Monday.

"Serial production of heavy UAVs is due to be launched by summer of 2018," the statement said.

Heavy UAVs "can spend days in mid-air without re-charging and carry up to several tonnes of cargo," the company said.
