Yantar vessel to arrive in area of search for Argentine submarine in early December - Russian source

MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Navy's Yantar hydrographic vessel is due to arrive in the area of the search for the missing Argentine submarine in early December, an informed source told Interfax on Tuesday.

"That will happen within the first ten days of December. This is a long voyage, and weather is a factor. The vessel may either accelerate or slow down under its influence," the source said.

A Russina Antonov An-124 Ruslan plane has airlifted 12 specialists of the Navy's search-and-rescue team to Argentina. The unit is equipped with the Pantera Plus remote-control submersible.

Contact with the Argentine Navy's San Juan submarine was lost on November 15. The submarine has a crew of 44.

Brazil and the United States have joined the search being carried out by Argentine warships and planes.
