Donbas, Ukrainian reps to discuss prisoner swap at next humanitarian subgroup meeting in Minsk

DONETSK. Nov 28 (Interfax) - Prisoner exchange and the search for missing persons will be discussed at a humanitarian subgroup meeting in Minsk, Darya Morozova, the human rights ombudsman of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), told journalists.

"The humanitarian group is meeting in Minsk tomorrow, November 29. The meeting is expected to focus on prisoner-exchange issues, returning documents to people released earlier, and the joint search for missing persons," Morozova said.

The attendees will also discuss the current humanitarian situation in Travneve and Hladosove, which are occupied by members of the Ukrainian Aidar battalion, she said.

"I will recall that the roadmap drafted jointly with International Committee of the Red Cross has long been ready. But due to Kyiv's unmotivated argumentation on the inclusion of third parties, proceeding to implement it, unfortunately, does not appear possible for now," Morozova said.

Nevertheless, the exchange of all identified prisoners remains the core issue, she said.

"I am hoping that we will manage to reach consensus with Ukraine and start the process of releasing captives. For our part, we will do everything possible for our guys to return home to their families as soon as possible," Morozova said.
