DPR reports militiaman killed, 4 wounded in past week (Part 2)

DONETSK. Dec 1 (Interfax) - A militiaman was killed and four more wounded in shelling conducted by Ukrainian troops in Donbas in the past week, a representative of the office of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic's (DPR) ombudsman told reporters.

"Four servicemen of the republic were wounded in the Ukrainian Armed Forces' military aggression against the DPR in the period from November 24 to November 30, 2017," the representative said.

Another militiaman was killed.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled the territory of the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) 43 times in the past week, Andrei Marochko, spokesperson for the LPR militia said.

"Ukrainian forces committed 43 ceasefire violations in the past week. They opened fire using a variety of weapons, including 122mm artillery pieces prohibited by the Minsk Agreements, 120mm and 82mm mortars, infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launches of various types, and small arms," Marochko said.

According to the LPR militia, the Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled areas of the populated localities of Kalynivka, Lohvinove, Lozove, Sanzharivka, Kalynove, Pervomaisk, Zolote-5, Sokilniki, Dovhe, Slovianoserbsk, Krasnyi Yar, and Vesela Hora.

"A total of 607 shells, mortars, and grenades were fired at the territory of the republic," the LPR spokesman said.

A civilian was wounded and three privately-owned buildings were damaged in the Ukrainian Armed Forces' shelling, he said.
