KYIV. Dec 5 (Interfax) - Forces and weapons will be removed from Stanytsia Luhanska on December 10 as long as representatives from the breakaway areas of the Luhansk region continue to observe the ceasefire, Darka Olifer, a spokeswoman for Leonid Kuchma, who represents Ukraine in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG), said.
"The last attack near Stanytsia Luhanska was observed on December 2. The removal of forces and weapons from this site is scheduled to take place on December 10, provided the breakaway parts of the Luhansk region have observed the ceasefire for seven days," Olifer wrote on her Facebook page after the TCG meeting in Minsk on Tuesday.
The TCG also agreed that a pedestrian bridge in Stanytsia Luhanska should be repaired, she wrote.
"The work is scheduled to take place on December 9-10 and involve the OSCE SMM [Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe's Special Monitoring Mission]. The checkpoint will be temporarily closed during this period. This restoration of the bridge is extremely necessary: it is crossed by up to 10,000 people every day," Olifer wrote, noting that the opening of the Zolote checkpoint is particularly relevant now.
