Moscow not withdrawing offer to host Palestinian-Israeli summit in Russia - Nebenzya

NEW YORK, UN. Dec 11 (Interfax) - Russia has stated that a meeting between the Palestinian and Israeli leaders remains relevant in light of the recent decision by the United States to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said.

"We're not withdrawing our offer on hosting a summit between the Palestinian and Israeli leaders in Russia," he said during the United Nations Security Council's meeting on the situation in the Middle East.

This September, Moscow already confirmed its readiness to provide a venue for a direct dialogue between Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, also known as Abu Mazen, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
