Russian cos want to supply $20 mln of security equipment for Egyptian airports

MOSCOW. Dec 12 (Interfax) - A consortium of Russian companies expects to supply equipment to ensure security at airports in Egypt, direct flights to which Russia plans to resume at the beginning of 2018.

The consortium includes Speech Technology Center, Elvees-Neotek, Elektronika, NPP NTT and Altex Soft, the Russian Export Center (REC) told Interfax.

The consortium carried out a project for the Egyptian Interior Ministry to supply voice recognition, face biometrics and other systems.

As part of the IT projects to ensure security at the country's airports, the consortium signed a strategic agreement with Egyptian security company Falcon Group under which the REC is prepared to provide financial support for the delivery of $20 million worth of Russian products, a spokesman for the REC said.
