MOSCOW. Dec 13 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Deputy Defense Minister Nikolai Pankov his representative in the Russian parliament's ratification of the Russia-Syria agreement enlarging the premises of the Russian Navy's technical support and logistics center in Tartus.
The president's order was posted on the official legal data portal on Wednesday.
"To appoint the Russian State Secretary and Deputy Defense Minister, Nikolai Pankov, official representative of the Russian president in the consideration by the two houses of the Russian Federal Assembly of the ratification of the Russia-Syria agreement enlarging the premises of the Russian Navy's technical support and logistics center in the Tartus port area and ensuring visits of Russian warships to the territorial waters, the internal waters, and ports of Syria signed in Damascus on January 18, 2017," the order said.
