MOSCOW. Dec 13 (Interfax) - Russia welcomes U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's statement on the United States' willingness to start direct dialogue with North Korea without preconditions and expects Washington to take practical steps, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.
"We certainly support this approach and believe this is the only right and possible approach. It would be important to be sure that the statements will be followed by practical steps," Ryabkov told Interfax on Wednesday.
"We are firmly convinced that a political dialogue, which is so necessary and important, should be accompanied by maximum restraint from the standpoint of military measures, which Pyongyang could perceive as threatening," he said.
