MOSCOW. Dec 14 (INTERFAX-AVN) - Two corvettes and a tanker of the Russian Navy's Baltic Fleet are returning to Baltiisk after a two-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Ocean, the fleet's press service told Interfax.
"The crews of the Soobrazitelny and Boiky corvettes and the Kola tanker have completed routine missions in the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Ocean while on remote deployment. The ships have now set sail towards their base, the port of Baltiisk," the spokesperson said.
The naval group left Baltiisk on October 14 and has since sailed over 20,000 nautical miles.
"During the journey, the corvettes' crews carried out dozens of combat-training tasks. Servicemen of the Baltic Fleet held air-defense and anti-submarine defense drills, various shipboard drills and training exercises," the spokesperson said.
