MOSCOW. Dec 15 (Interfax) - The egoistic and cynical line pursued by the United States and some other countries toward North Korea is the main cause of the tension on the Korean Peninsula, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"In our conviction, the main reason of the current tension is the consistently egoistic and cynical line pursued by a number of countries led by the United States," Lavrov said at the Federation Council on Friday.
"Having come to believe in its own superiority and infallibility and having gotten accustomed to seeing its approaches accepted as the ultimate truth, the so-called historical West is trying to obstruct the natural process of a new and fairer polycentric world order's coming into being," he said.
