Defense Ministry responds to Pentagon's doubts about reduction of Russian forces in Syria

MOSCOW. Dec 15 (Interfax) - The Pentagon shows that it does not know the situation when it questions reports about a drawdown of the Russian military contingent in Syria, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said on Friday.

"It is the Pentagon's problem if American television channels are not showing the arrivals of Russian aircraft, military doctors, sappers, and military police from Syria and the return of military hardware to Russian seaports," Konashenkov said in response to a Pentagon spokesperson's remarks that Russian statements about the withdrawal of its forces from Syria "do not often correspond with actual troop reductions."
