DONETSK. Dec 15 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) exports its products to 15 countries, but almost 90% of all supplies go to Russia, acting DPR Economic Development Minister Victoria Romanyuk said at a meeting of the People's Council on Friday.
"Our products were exported to 15 countries in the first ten months of 2017," Romanyuk said.
"The scope of exports to Russia was the largest, 87.5% of the total, while the Luhansk People's Republic accounted for 6.7%," she said.
"The republic continues to develop its foreign trade; it has foreign economic contacts with 84 countries in total," Romanyuk said.
Acting DPR Industry and Trade Minister Alexei Granovsky said that "14 industrial enterprises [of the republic] resumed activity in 2017 after a long pause."
These include the Khartsyzsk cable plant Silur, the Horlivka plant Stirol, the Dokuchayevsk flux and dolomite plant, the Yuzovskyi metallurgical plant, and the Makiivka smelter, he said.
"About 150 enterprises of the republic's machine-building and metallurgical complex are up and running. The sales of metallurgical products is expected to exceed 44.5 billion rubles in 2017. Some 2.7 billion rubles' worth of machine-building products will be sold," he said.
Two-thirds of the republic's machine-building production is exported, including a third to Russia, Granovsky said.
