HMEIMIM. Dec 15 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian center for reconciliation of warring sides in Syria has conducted a humanitarian action in the Homs province.
"A total of 1,900 kilograms of food have been delivered to the populated locality of Ard Al-Jaburin in the Homs province. Residents were given 500 food kits: rice, canned meat, sugar. During the action, Russian military medics tended to 36 residents," the Center's officials said at a briefing on Friday.
Furthermore, Syrian troops, the Center and leaders of the armed opposition operating in the Homs de-escalation area N2 provided security for an international aid convoy, the officials said.
"A joint UN-Syrian Arab Red Crescent convoy has delivered 156 tonnes of aid - food, medications and essentials - to Kafr Laha in the Homs province," the Russian reconciliation said.
"As the result of the joint work of officers from the Center for reconciliation of opposing sides and the committee for control over eastern territories of the Deir ez-Zor province, the process of refugee return has intensified," the center said. The past 24 hours saw 252 residents returning to Deir ez-Zor. All of them received humanitarian aid. Drinking water was delivered to Hatlah and 12 returning residents in Al-Husseini received medical assistance.
