Russia's withdrawal from JCCC aims to make Ukraine implement Minsk deal - Verkhovna Rada

KYIV. Dec 19 (Interfax) - Russia's withdrawal from the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) aims to make Ukraine implement the Minsk Agreements disadvantageous for Kyiv, Verkhovna Rada Vice-Speaker Oksana Syroyid said at the parliament's plenary meeting on Tuesday morning.

The actual reason why Russia decided yesterday to quit the so-called JCCC is "to make Ukraine implement those Minsk Agreements, i.e. destroy Ukraine's statehood with our hands," Syroyid said.

"Those who did that [signed the Minsk deal] made the Ukrainian sovereignty dependent on the enemy, Russia, which is why Russia now allows itself to dictate terms on Ukraine," she said.

The JCCC's Russian officers have left areas uncontrolled by Kyiv and headed for the Kyiv-held town of Soledar in order to depart for Russia from there.
