Willingness to cooperate with Russia in U.S. areas of interest among pluses of new U.S. national security strategy - Peskov (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Dec 19 (Interfax) - The new U.S. national security strategy contains some positive aspects, including Washington's willingness to cooperate with Moscow where this meets its interests, which corresponds with Moscow's position, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"There are also some modest positive aspects, among them preparedness to cooperate with Russia in areas consistent with Americans' interests," Peskov said in commenting on the new U.S. national security strategy.

"This absolutely correspondents with our approach voiced by the president. Moscow is also seeking to cooperate with the U.S. where it's advantageous to us and as much as our American counterparts are prepared to do so," Peskov said.

The recent exchange of information between the two countries' special services, which helped save many lives, could serve as an ideal example of such cooperation, he said.
