Moscow to ask de Mistura to work with Syrian opposition more actively

MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax) - Russia will urge UN Special Envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura to be more balanced in his judgments and work more actively with the opposition to lift the preconditions in the intra-Syrian negotiations during the upcoming talks in Moscow, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said.

"We'll call on him to promote the political process more constructively and actively, to be more balanced in his judgments, and to work with the opposition more actively, so that it does not set any preconditions for dialogue with the government delegation," Gatilov told journalists.
