KYIV. Dec 20 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Armed Forces will reinforce their positions in Donbas, Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov said.
"The Armed Forces are ready to repel any attacks. Absolutely, we will reinforce our positions on the frontline," Turchynov said in Kyiv on Wednesday.
The enemy recently opened fire on civilian facilities in Donbas using artillery and MRLS systems, he said.
Turchynov also said a possible reason why Russia has withdrawn its representatives from the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) is an upcoming military action in Donbas. "This may be linked to the escalation on the frontline. We cannot rule out that they are withdrawing their officers to ramp up military action, not just provocations," he said.
