Energomash fulfills order for RD-180 rocket engines' exports

MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax) - NPO Energomash has fulfilled the 2017 order for exports of RD-180 rocket engines, the Za Rodinu company newspaper said.

"The RD-180 engine has been shipped; our contractual obligations to foreign clients have been met in full," the newspaper said.

"The coming year of 2018 will be just as busy and interesting. There is a large production program ahead, the design and construction of the RD-171MV engine for Russia's new rocket, Soyuz-U, and modernization of production facilities," Energomash head Igor Arbuzov told the newspaper.

Russia supplies RD-180 engines to the United States.

The deliveries are continuing despite U.S. sanctions, with Russia using the hard currency to develop the domestic engine industry, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said in November.
