Putin in conversation with King Salman calls for resolution of Yemeni crisis solely with peaceful methods, through national dialogue

MOSCOW. Dec 21 (Interfax) - During a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the King of Saudi Arabia the parties discussed in substance pressing issues of the Middle Eastern agenda, including the situation in Yemen.

The telephone call took place at the request of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Kremlin said.

The king expressed his serious concern over the launch on December 19 by militants from the Yemeni-based Ansar Alla movement of a ballistic missile in the direction of Riyadh.

"Having condemned such actions, Vladimir Putin noted the importance of a full inquiry into the incident, and called for the Yemeni crisis to be resolved entirely peacefully, through national dialogue," the statement said.
