BALASHIKHA. Dec 22 (Interfax) - Iskander missile systems have been used in Syria, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said at the end-of-year meeting of the collegium of the Defense Ministry on Friday.
"Marine-aviation pilots stationed on the Admiral Kuznetsov heavy aircraft carrier have had their first combat engagement. They have accomplished 420 combat missions. Combat-range precision-guided missiles, such as Kalibr, Kh-101, Iskander, Tochka U, Kh-55, and some others, were used against crucial terrorist facilities," Shoigu said.
Ships and submarines delivered 100 strikes, and strategic aviation delivered 66, he said.
