Our force is aimed at defense from external threats, terrorism. We are not seeking and will not seek confrontation with anyone and will continue our open and honest foreign policy," Putin said at a United Russia congress.
Russia will strengthen the Eurasian Economic Union together with its partners and promote an initiative to form a new, extensive integrative outline, he said.
"We are ready to work with all countries, in the West, in the East, on the basis of the principles of confidence and equality, but we will never sacrifice safety of our citizens and national interests of our people," the Russian president said.
