MOSCOW. Jan 11 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Defense Ministry is developing measures to counter drones and other military hardware used by militants in Syria, Maj. Gen. Alexander Novikov, the chief of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff department dealing with the development of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), said at a news briefing on Thursday.
"It should be pointed out that the Russian Defense Ministry regularly monitors the use of all types of weapons and military hardware by militants in Syrian territory and develops the necessary countermeasures," Novikov said.
"This also fully applies to unmanned aerial vehicles," he said.
