MOSCOW. Jan 12 (Interfax) - The Director of the North Korean Foreign Ministry's First European Department, Im Cheon Il, has met with Russian Ambassador Alexander Matsegora in Pyongyang to discuss the intra-Korean settlement process and the bilateral agenda, the Russian Embassy to North Korea said in a statement on Facebook on Friday.
"Matsegora met with the Director of the North Korean Foreign Ministry's First European Department, Im Cheon Il, at the People's Palace of Culture in Pyongyang on January 12," the statement said.
"The director informed the ambassador about main provisions of the New Year's address of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un with an emphasis on foreign policy issues. The initiatives aimed to achieve the intra-Korean accord were presented in the context of the high-level negotiations the North and the South held in Panmunjom on January 9," it said.
"The ambassador and the director also exchanged opinions on the bilateral agenda, including the elaboration of a plan of celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the bilateral relations between our countries," it said.
