Putin, Gentiloni discuss opening of Russian Seasons, energy cooperation, Libya, Ukraine

MOSCOW. Jan 15 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni have held a telephone conversation, the Kremlin press service said in a statement.

"Both sides have expressed satisfaction over the successful opening of the Russian Seasons festival in Italy on January 14. It was noted that the implementation of this large scale project provides for holding more than 250 cultural events, which will undoubtedly help enhance friendly ties between Russian and Italian people," the statement said.

The parties "discussed in detail the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the trade and energy spheres," it said.

Putin and Gentiloni "exchanged opinions topical international subjects, in particular with regard to Italy's presidency in the OSCE this year. The parties also paid attention to the settlement in Libya and the Ukrainian internal crisis," the press service said.

The parties agreed to continue contacts on various levels, it said.
