MOSCOW. Jan 18 (Interfax) - Russia is strictly complying with the UN Security Council's resolutions on North Korea, and the settlement process on the Korean Peninsula is being hindered by the U.S. aggressive attitude to Pyongyang, rather than by Russia, Federation Council Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Konstantin Kosachyov told Interfax on Thursday.
"If there is anything hindering the settlement on the Korean Peninsula, it is the inconsistent and frequently aggressive attitude of the United States towards North Korea. For instance now that the intra-Korean dialogue has emerged, the Americans keep rattling saber, threatening with new sanctions, and accusing everyone," Kosachyov said.
"As to Russia, it has supported the relevant decisions of the Security Council and is strictly complying with those, both de jure through the endorsement of relevant national legislation, primarily executive orders of the Russian president, and de facto," he said.
