Cyber-attacks increasingly target infrastructure rather than state web resources - FSB (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Feb 1 (Interfax) - Cyber-attacks are increasingly targeting vital infrastructure rather than websites, Ivan Minayev, an official with the relevant division of the Federal Security Service (FSB), said.

"There is an obvious tendency toward retargeting cyber-attacks from specific state and corporate portals to vital infrastructure facilities to cause industrial accidents, environmental disasters, and social shocks," Minayev said at the national information security forum Infoforum 2018.

"Cyber-crime today is no longer romantic loners, but organized groups with the latest technology and well-developed chains and channels for selling their services," he said.
