Kabul's support for new U.S. strategy on Afghanistan hinders intra-Afghan dialogue - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax) - Kabul's support for the United States' new strategy in Afghanistan obstructs a dialogue between the Afghan government and the Taliban, Russian Foreign Ministry Second Asian Department Director and presidential representative for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov said.

"In our view, the White House's preference for forcible pressure and Kabul's support of the new U.S. strategy on Afghanistan are absolutely not conducive to the start of a peaceful intra-Afghan dialogue but only protracts the conflict and leads to new countless casualties among the Afghan population," Kabulov said in an interview with Interfax.
