Russia ready to consider any E. Ghouta scenario, including militants' withdrawal - Lavrov

GENEVA. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Russia is ready to consider any possibilities for settling the Eastern Ghouta situation and would not object to the voluntary withdrawal of militants from the area, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday.

"We are ready for any scenario. We applied the method of the voluntary withdrawal of militants and their families when we addressed the problem of liberating Eastern Aleppo," Lavrov told reporters in Geneva while discussing the Eastern Ghouta situation.

"We will be ready to discuss any options that can help neutralize terrorists and stop their activity. We personally will raise no objections if it is possible to relocate them somewhere, but this still needs to be discussed. We will be ready to discuss any scenarios that will, above all, save lives," Lavrov said.
