MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - More than 800 delegates from 84 countries are expected to participate in the seventh Moscow Conference on International Security on April 4-5, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin said.
"In all, the attendance of 800 delegates from 84 states has already been confirmed," Fomin said at a meeting with foreign military attaches on Wednesday.
The Russian Defense Ministry also invites all participants and military attaches to join an excursion to the Patriot Park, which is themed around equipment of the Russian Armed Forces, outside of Moscow on April 3, the day before the Moscow conference is due to start, he said.
"The delegates will have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with this exhibition site and view different types of Russian-made weapons and military hardware," he said.
This annual forum hosted by the Russian Defense Ministry acts as a platform for open dialogue on a wide variety of modern-day problems, Fomin said, adding that the event's role is confirmed by the growing number of its participants, among them defense ministers, supreme command representatives, senior officials of international organizations, and leading security experts.
