MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - Russia has begun developing types of strategic weapons that do use a ballistic trajectory and are invulnerable to any missile defenses, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his annual address to the Federal Assembly on Thursday.
A video of a Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile flight was shown during the president's address.
"This is not our limit," Putin said.
"We have started to develop such new kinds of strategic weapons that do not use a ballistic flight trajectory at all while moving toward the target. And it means that missile defense systems are useless and simply pointless in counteracting it," he said.
