MOSCOW/HMEIMIM. March 6 (Interfax) - The Main Military Prosecutor's Office has launched a probe following the crash of a military transport airplane at Hmeimim airbase in Syria, the Office's press service told Interfax.
"Further to the crash of an [Antonov] An-26 airplane at the Russian airbase in Syria, the Military Prosecutor's Office has organized a probe of the compliance with the legal rules regulating flight safety," a spokesperson for the Main Military Prosecutor's Office said on Tuesday.
"Appropriate procuratorial measures will be taken if necessary," the spokesperson added.
