Minesweeper Vice-Admiral Zakharyin sent to Mediterranean

MOSCOW. March 6 (Interfax) - The minesweeper Ivan Golubets has completed its deployment as part of the Russian Navy's permanent task force in the Mediterranean Sea and is now crossing the Dardanelles and the Bosphorus, the Black Sea Fleet's headquarters said on Tuesday.

"As part of the routine rotation of forces, the Ivan Golubets, on remote deployment, has been replaced by the Vice-Admiral Zakharyin," the fleet's press service said in a statement shared with Interfax-AVN.

"Currently the Navy's permanent task force in the Mediterranean consists of about 15 warships and support vessels," the statement said.

"The Ivan Golubets is expected to return to Sevastopol on March 8," it said.
