HMEIMIM. March 7 (Interfax) - Militants in Eastern Ghouta keep provoking Syrian forces into returning fire, the head of the Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria, Maj. Gen. Yury Yevtushenko, said on Tuesday.
"Radicalized groups operating in that enclave continue to breach the ceasefire. They keep firing on government forces in order to provoke them into returning fire," Yevtushenko said.
"Tensions are extremely high in the Eastern Ghouta de-escalation area amid general stabilization of the situation in the country," he said.
