MOSCOW. March 7 (Interfax) - The accusations that Damascus has employed non-selective strikes in Eastern Ghouta and the use of toxic substances are baseless and absurd, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
"The criticism coming from some Western countries alleging a non-selective strike by the Syrian army in Eastern Ghouta is again unproven, as usual. The accusations made against Damascus of the use of toxic substances are absurd from a logical point of view. They do not serve the interests of the prompt cessation of the bloodshed and suffering of the civilians who remain in the enclave and only irresponsibly encourage those who are fighting on the side of the terrorists," Zakharova said at a briefing on Wednesday.
"This gives them false hope that the Syrian government's resolve to put an end once and for all to the terrorist threat coming from the Syrian suburb can be broken," she said.
