Minsk talks confirm political dialogue with Kyiv so far impossible - DPR

DONETSK. March 15 (Interfax) - It is impossible to make headway in other political issues without an agreement on the Steinmeier formula and enforcing the Donbas special status law, acting Foreign Minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Natalya Nikonorova said in an official statement.

"It was confirmed once again at the today's meeting that without coordinating the Steinmeier formula and without understanding when the Donbas special status law will be fully enforced, it is found impossible to move forward in other political issues," Nikonorova said in a statement released by her press service.

"In particular, in the attempt to discuss amnesty, the key issue was precisely the timing of this process. The reference to amnesty and non-acceptance of persecution is contained in enacted, but not enforced special status law," she said.

Ukraine's continued policy of ignoring steps required and stipulated in the Package of Measures in the established order is leading only to making the prospects for crisis settlement more distant, Nikonorova said.

"Only joint work on the coordinated agenda and Kyiv's scrupulous attitude to the talks will be able to lead the current situation in negotiations from stagnation and lay groundwork for shifts to achieving a lasting and solid peace in Donbas," the statement indicated.

The Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) for Donbas settlement is held in Minsk on Wednesday.
