MOSCOW. March 15 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has called for avoiding confrontation with the West.
"Everything must be done in order not to fall into the abyss of confrontation," Lavrov said at the Russia - Country of Opportunity forum on Thursday.
"Russia is promoting a positive agenda, which is bound to unite, rather than isolate anyone. This agenda seeks a peaceful settlement of every conflict, be it in Syria or in Iraq, Libya, Yemen, the Korean Peninsula, or Ukraine, exclusively on the basis of international law and the UN Charter," Lavrov said.
