MOSCOW. March 15 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the situation in the Russian-UK relations with the permanent members of the Russian Security Council on Thursday, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"In the context of international affairs, the participants had a detailed discussion of the situation in the Russian-British relations in the wake of the so-called Skripal case," Peskov said.
"They expressed extreme concern about the destructive and provocative position assumed by the British side," he said.
"In discussing the situation in Syria, the participants in the session acknowledged a positive trend in settling the situation around Eastern Ghouta, mentioning the continued exodus of the humanitarian population and nascent preconditions for an improvement in the humanitarian situation," Peskov said.
"The session also dealt with routine aspects of the socioeconomic agenda," he said.
Taking part in the session were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, Federation Council Chairperson Valentina Matviyenko, Presidential Executive Office chief Anton Vaino, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Alexander Bortnikov, Foreign Intelligence Service chief Sergei Naryshkin, and Special Presidential Representative for Environment Protection, Ecology, and Transport Sergei Ivanov.
