Almost 26,000 people leave E. Ghouta via two humanitarian passages on Sunday - Russian general

EASTERN GHOUTA (Syria). March 19 (Interfax) - The Russian center for the reconciliation of the opposing sides in Syria conducted the 20th humanitarian pause that allowed almost 26,000 people leave Eastern Ghouta, the center's chief Yury Yevtushenko said.

"The 20th humanitarian pause was in place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. under the control of the reconciliation center. A total of 388 people managed to leave through the humanitarian passage near the village of Muhayam al-Wafedin. In all, 1,716 people left through this passage starting from February 28," Yevtushenko said.

"Another 25,235 people were withdrawn from the towns of Arbin, Hammuriyah, Saqba and Hazzah through the second humanitarian passage over the past 24 hours," he said.
