Syrian doctors deny admitting Douma patients with chemical poisoning symptoms - Russian Defense Ministry (Part 2)

EASTERN GHOUTA. April 9 (Interfax-AVN) - Syrian doctors have denied admitting any patients with chemical poisoning symptoms from Eastern Ghouta's Douma, the Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria said on Monday.

"Syrian doctors in Douma have denied admitting any patients with chemical poisoning symptoms," the center said.

The center has interviewed doctors and other employees of the Douma hospital, it said.

"We have not had any patients with chemical poisoning symptoms either last weekend or earlier, since the beginning of the hostilities in Syria. We have given assistance to people with various traumas, fractures, and fragmentation and bullet wounds," the center quoted a Douma city hospital doctor, Yaser Abdel-Majid, as saying.

The West has accused Syrian forces of using chemical weapons in Douma.
