MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered one-time compensation to be paid to several categories of residents of Crimean and Sevastopol, including retired disabled officers from Ukraine's defense and security system.
Under a decree published on the official Internet portal of legal information, the money will be paid out this year to citizens who were living in Crimea and Sevastopol as of March 18, 2014.
These include "retired service personnel (employees) of the Ukrainian armed, police, and security forces on the grounds envisaged by the laws in effect in Crimea and Sevastopol before February 21, 2014, and who were classed as disabled as a result of war injuries or illnesses suffered during military service."
The families of employees of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies who died in the line of duty prior to March 18, 2014 will also receive money.
