NEW YORK. April 10 (Interfax) - Syria stands ready to assist the work of a mission of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in the Syrian town of Douma, Syrian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Bashar al-Jaafari said at a UN Security Council meeting on Syria.

Al-Jaafari also called on the OPCW mission to arrive in Syria "as soon as possible" in order to verify the falseness of claims about the use of chemical weapons in Douma.
