MOSCOW. April 10 (Interfax) - Russia welcomes the de-escalation of mutual threats between Pyongyang and Washington, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday.
"We reaffirmed on the Russian side that we welcome the gradual normalization of the situation, the cessation of mutual threats, preparedness for contacts both between the two Koreas and between North Korea and the U.S.," Lavrov said at a press conference following negotiations with his North Korean counterpart Ri Yong Ho in Moscow.
The parties acknowledged that "the developments on the ground are proceeding within the framework of the roadmap that Russia and China formulated and proposed last year to de-escalate the situation and to provide preconditions for negotiations," he said.
