CHENNAI (India). April 12 (Interfax-AVN) - The book of export orders for Russian weapons placed by India has exceeded $12 billion in the past five years, Vladimir Drozhzhov, deputy head of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), told Interfax.

"The value indicator of the export of Russian military-purpose products to India has exceeded $12 billion over the past five years," Drozhzhov said.

Russia remains one of the key "players" on India's weapons market, he said.

"According to the results of 2017, India, for its part, is also among the top five buyers of Russian weapons. Beyond any doubt, India remains our strategic partner and one of the main partners in the area of military-technical cooperation," Drozhzhov said.
