U.S. threatens to use force against Syria based on fake reports, in absence of real picture of what occurred - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. April 12 (Interfax) - Washington's statements on the threat to use force over the alleged chemical attack in Syria are extremely dangerous and they are made on the basis of fakes, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

"Military statements threatening extremely dangerous escalation continue coming from Washington. Accusations are being made not only against Damascus, but also against Russia, which is allegedly defending the al-Assad regime and therefore shares the blame for his crimes," Zakharova told a briefing on Thursday.

"How can one, understanding the price of fakes, make the most responsible decisions on the use of force against a sovereign state and at the same time threaten to use force on the international scene, without having a real picture of what occurred?" she said.
