MOSCOW. April 16 (Interfax-AVN) - Rosoboronexport is displaying products for all branches and services of the armed forces at the 16th Defense Security Services Asia Exhibition and Conference DSA 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which is taking place April 16-19, the company's press service said in a statement shared with Interfax-AVN on Monday.
"Rosoboronexport is participating in DSA 2018 as a member of the Russian exposition. The company is presenting over 250 military products made by Russian defense plants," the company said.
Aircraft top the list of Russian military products exported to Southeast Asia, the company said. "Rosoboronexport believes that multirole super-maneuverable fighters of the Su family (Su-35 and Su-30MKI), the Mikoyan MiG-29M multirole frontline fighter, and the Yakovlev Yak-130 combat trainer are the aircraft with the biggest potential on this market," it said.
"Clients have traditionally shown interest in the Russian military transport helicopters Mil Mi-171Sh and Mi-1 7V5, as well as Mi-35M combat-and-transport helicopters, which are multifunctional, have unique transportation capacities, outdo their rivals, and can efficiently operate in the tropics and remote mountainous areas at various altitudes and temperatures," Rosoboronexport said.
"Russia's light multirole helicopters Kamov Ka-226T and Mi-28NE combat helicopters have a significant export potential in the Southeast Asian market due to their high combat, functional, and performance characteristics," the company said.
Rosoboronexport expects foreign delegations to show interest in Russian products for navies, ground forces, and air defense units, including the Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile and anti-aircraft artillery weapon system and the Igla-S MANPAD, it said.
"Russian naval hardware is well known to Malaysia and the whole region. Patrol hovercraft of Projects 14310 Mirazh and 12200 Sobol, the Gepard-3.9 frigate based on the patrol ship of Project 11661, and the diesel-electric submarine of Project 636 have the biggest potential in this market," the company said.
"Rosoboronexport expects representatives of ground forces to show interest in T-90S and T-90MS tanks, Metis-M1 and Kornet-EM anti-tank missile systems, and Kalashnikov assault rifles of the AK-100 series," it said.
