Russian defense satellite reaches working orbit

MOSCOW. April 19 (Interfax) - A Briz-M upper stage has delivered a satellite of the Russian Defense Ministry launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome early on Thursday morning to its working orbit, a representative of the ministry told the press.

"The satellite was put into its orbit on time and without incident," the representative said.

The Proton-M rocket took off at 1.12 a.m. Moscow time on Thursday. The Briz-M and the satellite separated successfully from the rocket's third stage at 1.22 a.m. Moscow time.
