MOSCOW. April 20 (Interfax) - The United States has switched to an open use of deterrence instruments and harsh confrontation in relation to Russia, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said.
"The United States has switched from the earlier declared policy of cooperation with Russia to an open use of instruments of deterrence and harsh confrontation," Patrushev said at a meeting of the Russian Security Council interagency commission on strategic planning on Friday.
"The United States views Russia's independent foreign policy and consistent defense of its national interests as a threat to its unconditional domination in the world," Patrushev said.
