Military parades to be held in 29 Russian cities, over 55,000 people to attend them - Shoigu

KUBINKA (Moscow region). April 20 (Interfax-AVN) - Over 55,000 people and 1,200 units of military hardware will participate in military parades all across Russia on May 9, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.

"Alongside Moscow, military parades will be held in 28 Russian cities. Over 55,000 people, about 1,200 units of military hardware will participate in them. About 150 aircraft will represent the aviation component," Shoigu said at a visiting meeting of the Russian Defense Ministry's board meeting at the Patriot congress exhibition center.

Over 13,000 people, 159 units of weaponry and military hardware and 75 aircraft will be involved in a military parade on the Red Square to mark the 73rd anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the minister said.

"Promising samples of military hardware, in particular tank-support combat vehicles, multipurpose robotic complexes, advanced anti-aircraft missile systems will be included in the mechanized column. Sukhoi Su-57 fighters, Su-30SM, MiG-29SMT will fly for the first time over the capital," the minister said.
