Inter-Korean summit results may have positive effect on preparations for Kim-Trump meeting - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. April 28 (Interfax) - Moscow believes that the rapprochement between the United States and North Korea, as well as two Koreas will take a lot of time and patience, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov told Interfax.

"If the leaders of North Korea and the United States manage to further the success achieved at the inter-Korean summit and elaborate a mutually acceptable formula of the phased lifting of each other's concerns, they would make much headway in the settlement of problems existing on the peninsula. Yet I think that the rapprochement between the United States and North Korea, as well as between two Koreas, will take a lot of time and patience," Morgulov said.

Speaking of the normalization of relations between North Korea and the United States, Morgulov said, "this is a key but not only aspect of the Korean settlement process."

"I think the outcome of the Panmunjom summit can have a favorable impact on the atmosphere of preparations between Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump," he said.
